RARE - These New York City area candy cards feature only Babe Ruth and are from ca.1921. The cards were cut from the front and back of the candy box, with each box having the "portrait" card on one side, and one of 5 other action pose cards on the other. Kids were to save the "portrait" cards and send them into the company for a Babe Ruth autographed ball. The cards are printed in red, white, blue, and black, and are roughly 1.6" by 2.5" when cut properly. There are 2 variations in the "portrait" card, one has arrows pointing at the ball, the other doesnt. There are 6 cards in the complete set. |
