1947-66 style

These postcard size exhibit cards were made by the Exhibit Supply Co. of Chicago for use in exhibit card machines usually found in amusement parks, fairs, and ball parks of the era. The 1939-1946 series is called "Salutation" Exhibits (a few of the cards were issued for a few years past 1946).  The later 1947-1966 series doesn't have a salutation before the players name. These cards can be dated even closer to the year of issue by the style of the "U.S.A." print at bottom. The cards with the all capitals "MADE IN U.S.A." are from 1939-1950 (different sizes of print for different years). the cards with "Made in U.S.A." are from 1951-1953. the cards with the all capital "PRINTED IN U.S.A." are from 1954-1956. The cards with "Printed in U.S.A" are from 1957-1966. There are 82 in the 1939-46 style set. There are 336 different cards in the 1947-1966 style set.

The 1953 Canadian Exhibits are a Canadian Exhibit set made by the Exhibit Co. of Chicago. These cards are far scarcer than the other Exhibits. The Canadian issue is blank backed and are slightly smaller at 3.25" by 5.25". Cards numbered 1-32 can be found in a green or purple tint, while cards numbered 33-64 can be found with a blue or reddish-brown tint. There are 64 numbered cards in the set including Major Leaguers and players from the Montreal Royals of the International League.
