Diamond Dust
Punchboard Cards |
 |
SCARCE to RARE - These colorful ribbed paper cards were the consolation prize from a punchboard, a popular gambling device of the Depression era. For 5 cents the customer would choose one of 624 holes and punch it out sometimes receiving these paper cards. The Diamond Dust cards are sometimes poorly cut and are roughly 1" by 1.75" in size. Backs have 2-5 printed numbers in red and black. It is said 15 of the players were $1 winners and likely made in shorter numbers. Any card redeemed would have been likely destroyed. To date there are 33 different players known. |
