There are 3 different Play Ball sets made by Gum Inc. of Phiiladelphia.  All 3 sets are roughly 2.5" by 3.12"

The 1939 Play Ball are B&W and the set is complete at 161 different cards (no #126 card issued).

The 1940 Play Ball cards are B&W and have the name on front with a glove, ball, and bat design on front. There are 240 different cards in the set including retired players.

The 1941 Play Ball set are colorized photos with a colorful background.  There are 72 different cards in the set.  There are also 24 different cards that were printed on a paper stock, far thinner than the normal cardboard card stock, and these are much scarcer.
