SCARCE to RARE - These attractive cards originally had a large wedge shaped tab at bottom that held it in the Hires Root Beer cartons. Hires cards are usually found with this tab cut off. The cards measure roughly 2.5" by 3.5", but vary somewhat. There are 76 numbered cards in the regular complete set. There was also a very rare test set issued just before the regular issue. These unnumbered test cards have a B&W photo with either an orange or yellow background. There are 8 different in the test set. |
